Lebanon-I-44-Speedway(LEBANON, Missouri) – The time has finally come to decide who will bear the honors of 2012 track champion at Lebanon I-44 Speedway. As the racing season gears up for the final four weeks of action at Missouri’s only asphalt oval, drivers are focusing on what they need to do to secure a title, beginning with a full docket during the 16th edition of “Kickin’ Asphalt” action this Saturday, August 25, headlined by the O’Reilly Auto Parts ASA Late Models and their race for a potential ASA National Championship on KOZL & KOLR Night at the Races.

“With the championship picture coming into a clearer focus, it’s going to be fun to watch the give-and-take over the final few weeks,” said Lebanon I-44 Speedway Promoter Kevin Greven. “This is always an exciting time for fans because these drivers are going to give it every ounce of effort they have in their bodies and their cars in order to grab a title. The fans end up being the big winners when it’s all said and done.”

After last week’s high stakes ASA Late Model action, a full slate of racing returns to I-44 this weekend as an exciting undercard highlighted by the Budweiser Modifieds and their exciting duel for the title between young guns Tyler Scott and Payton Lucas also includes the Hoosier Tire Road Warriors as well as the return of the Hardee’s Sportsman and the entry-level Coca-Cola Chargers after a brief one-week hiatus. With kids around Mid-Missouri headed back to the confines of the classroom, I-44 is hosting a “Back to School Bash” with the first 250 children through the spectator gates receiving a free pass to Big Surf Water Park. Spectator gates open up at 5:00 p.m. with ASA stock car racing scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m. on the 3/8th-mile oval.

Lebanon I-44 Speedway offers an alcohol-free grandstand, featuring aluminum seating with seat-backs, along with tier parking for cars, pickup trucks and RV’s where patrons may park, tailgate and view the races. Known amongst I-44 race fans as the ‘Budweiser Wild Side’, beer may be brought in by fans to the tier parking areas, while full food and non-alcoholic beverage concessions are available in both the grandstands and tier parking, along with a souvenir and track apparel stand.

Admission prices will remain just $10 for Adults, ages 16 and older, in the grandstands while Adult admission on the ‘Budweiser Wild Side’ will remain just $15. Discounted admission will be offered in both locations for Military members with an ID present, as well as Seniors (ages 65 and older) and Juniors (ages 11-15), and Children (ages 10 and younger) will be admitted for free. A grandstand Family Pass for two Adults and two Juniors plus any number of Children is available for $25, while six Adults entering in the same vehicle on tiered parking will be admitted to the ‘Budweiser Wild Side’ for $75.

“This will be a chance for the kids to get away from the beginning of school and enjoy a night of fun at the races,” said Greven. “On the other hand, adults and everyone in the thick of a championship hunt will be able to see the stretch run commence in exciting fashion. This is going to be an awesome final month at I-44 and this Saturday is just the beginning.”

Lebanon I-44 Speedway is located four miles east of the Lebanon city limit on Historic Route 66. Patrons using Interstate 44 may take Exit 135 and then drive approximately one mile east on Route 66 to the track’s main entrance. Additional information about the track’s 2012 ‘Kickin’ Asphalt’ racing schedule may be found on the facility’s official website, www.i44speedway.net, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Lebanon-I-44-Speedway, and on Twitter (@i44Speedway).
