World of Outlaws Late Model Series(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert, of York, Pennsylvania, racked up his third World of Outlaws Late Model Series feature win of 2012 on Friday night, August 17 at the Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan! After timing in sixth quickest in WOOLMS qualifying, Rick grabbed the second transfer spot in his heat race and later drew the outside of the front row for the 50-lap main event. Rick briefly took the lead from Josh Richards on the seventeenth circuit and eventually grabbed the point for good on lap twenty-seven. “Scrub” then led the remainder of the show to claim the

$10,000 triumph over Richards, Vic Coffey, Terry Casey, and Darrell Lanigan!

On Saturday evening, August 18, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series took the #24 team to the Merritt Raceway in Lake City, Michigan. Rick laid down the fourth fastest lap during the qualifying session and later took the win in his heat race. After drawing the fourth starting position for the
$10,000 to win A-Main, Rick hung around the top five throughout the 50-lap distance before crossing underneath the checkers in the fifth spot. He finished behind only winner Josh Richards, Brandon Sheppard, Kent Robinson, and Mike Spatola. Rick is still second in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings following his strong weekend in the Wolverine State. Full results can be viewed online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

“It was a good, solid weekend for us in the state of Michigan,” exclaimed Eckert via telephone yesterday. “We had a great car at Winston on Friday night and had a lot of fun racing Josh (Richards) for the lead and the win there. Then at Merritt, that was a survival deal and I just tried to miss the holes for most of the race. I could have tried to push it a little harder and maybe finished third or so, but I could have just as easily broken something that would have caused me not to finish. I want to thank everyone that is involved in supporting my program; it is a total team effort and we look forward to racing this weekend at Winchester and Selinsgrove!”

Two more World of Outlaws Late Model Series tilts await the Rick Eckert Racing team in the states of Virginia and Pennsylvania this upcoming weekend. Up first will be a trip to the Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia on Saturday night, August 25 for a $10,000 to win, one-day program. A similar show will then be held on Sunday, August 26 at the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Additional information on the WOOLMS double-dip this weekend can be accessed online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

Rick would like to thank the following sponsors for their commitment to his race team: In Loving Memory of Raye Vest, J&K Salvage, Ritchey Sandblasting, Bloomquist Race Cars, Jay D1ckens Racing Engines, Eckert Trucking, S&S Mobile Power Wash, All About Doors, Allstar Performance, Arizona Sport Shirts, Awesome Racewear, Bahia Service Center, Bell Helmets, Beyea Headers, Callies, Comp Cams, Delph Communications, Dyer’s Top Rods, FK Rod Ends, Heintz Bros.
