Lebanon-I-44-Speedway(LEBANON, Mo.) – Due to an expanding cell of precipitation that’s already dumped copious amounts of rain onto the racing surface at Lebanon I-44 Speedway and is expected to continue throughout the evening, tonight’s racing program has been canceled while KOZL & KOLR Night at the Races will be moved to Saturday, September 15.

“There was no sense in waiting any longer to make a decision,” said Lebanon I-44 Speedway Promoter Kevin Greven. “The rain has been coming down in buckets and every forecast and radar screen that we’ve looked at insists that this precipitation will maintain its pace and continue through the window that we’d run our racing program in. While it’s always disappointing to see the weather not cooperate, everyone at I-44 is excited for what’s now become a three-week stretch run to the finish line.”

With the cancelation, just three weeks remain in the 2012 campaign at Missouri’s asphalt oval and each race will now carry a heightened sense of importance beginning next week with the biggest show of the year at I-44, the O’Reilly Auto Parts ASA Late Models ‘High Banks 100’, featuring the highest payday offered at Missouri racetrack in almost a decade. Running in conjunction with the ASA Late Models and making up an exciting undercard will be the Budweiser Modifieds and the Hardee’s Sportsman, both with expanded payouts as well. Spectator gates are slated to open at 5 p.m and fans can look forward to the penultimate “Budweiser Pre-Race Party” before the first green flag waves at 7:30 p.m.

Visit any participating O’Reilly Auto Parts Store to pick up your advance discount tickets.

Lebanon I-44 Speedway is located four miles east of the Lebanon city limit on Historic Route 66. Patrons using Interstate 44 may take Exit 135 and then drive approximately one mile east on Route 66 to the track’s main entrance. Additional information about the track’s 2012 ‘Kickin’ Asphalt’ racing schedule may be found on the facility’s official website, www.i44speedway.net, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Lebanon-I-44-Speedway, and on Twitter (@i44Speedway).
