Springfield Raceway Season Champions Set For Saturday Night September 1

Springfield RacewaySpringfield, Mo.- Round number 16 of the Transport Graphics Championship Chase will get underway Saturday Night September 1st at the “Quick-Quarter” of the Springfield Raceway as drivers attempt to either grab that first win of the season or better themselves in the final point standings. The Speedway will continue racing after that date with several special events.

Action will feature the Budweiser USRA Modifieds, Reliable Chevrolet USRA B Modifieds, Casey’s General Stores Midwest Modz, Wheeler Metal Legends and Young Lion Legends, Pepsi Pure Stocks and Williams Lawn Care and Preservation Street Stocks.

Current point leaders include Jackie Dalton (USRA Modifieds) holding a narrow 22 point cushion over Mitch Keeter, Scott Drake (USRA B Modifieds), Trevor Drake (Midwest Modz), Justin Comer ( Legends), Wesley Smith ( Young Lion Legends), Brett Testerman (Pure Stocks), and Jim Reid (Street Stocks).

The Speedway will also be having a lap of respect and honor in the memory of  long time fan Wanda “Granny” Jeffries of Springfield. Mrs. Jeffries was a devoted fan of the Springfield Raceway and during the banquet for the 2010 race season was awarded a season long pass from owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland. Mrs.Jeffries passed away in early August of 2011 and was a loved member by fans, drivers, and staff.

In case of a cancellation due to weather, there will be No Make-Up Date and standings will be final.

Grandstand gates open at 5:30 with hot laps to start around 6:30 and Racing to get underway at 7:30.

Grandstand Admission is only $12 for Adults while kids 6-12 are $5 and under 6 free.
