Lucas Oil Late Model Series(MUSCATINE, IOWA) The Birkhofer Racing team traveled to the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on Saturday evening, August 25 for the ‘Whiskey City 50.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the one-day event and a $10,000 top prize was on the line. Brian Birkhofer grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race and later rolled off starting sixteenth on the grid in the 50-lap feature event. In front of the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios, Brian roared past eleven competitors during the race to score a fifth place finish behind only winner Jimmy Owens, Don O’Neal, John Blankenship, and Steve Francis. Complete results from the ‘Whiskey City 50’ can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Brian and his #15b team are scheduled to invade the states of Ohio and West Virginia from August 31-September 2 for a trio of high-profile races. The Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio will take center stage on Friday by hosting a $7,000 to win, unsanctioned event, while the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will roll into PRP on Saturday to sanction a $10,000 to win program. The Labor Day holiday weekend will then conclude on Sunday at the I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia, as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presides over the annual running of the ‘Hillbilly 100,’ which boasts a hefty $25,000 payday.
