Springfield, Mo.- Mother Nature and Isaac won the battle Saturday at the Springfield Raceway as the Transport Graphics Season Championships were washed out.
The 2012 Season Champions are Jackie Dalton( USRA Budweiser Modifieds) of Carthage, Scott Drake( USRA Reliable Chevrolet/GM Performance B Mods) of Webb City, Trevor Drake( Casey’s General Stores Midwest Modz) of Webb City, Justin Comer( Wheeler Metals Legends) of Joplin, Wesley Smith( Young Lions Legends) of Nixa, Brett Testerman( Pepsi Pure Stocks) of Miami, Oklahoma, and Jim Reid( Williams Lawn Care And Preservation Street Stocks) of Springfield.
The next event at the “Quick Quarter” will be on Saturday September 15th as Home Pro Home Improvement Stores and the Tullis Family of Joplin Presents the Larry Phillips Memorial. This race will feature the 4th and final round of battles between the MLRA and MARS Regional Super Late Model Series as the Speedway pays honor to the Springfield Living Legend Stock Car Champion. Action will also include USRA Modifieds, USRA B Modifieds, Midwest Modz, Legends, Young Lions, Pure Stocks and Street Stocks with Racing action to begin at 6:30. Defending event winner and current MLRA point leader John Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska will be leading an outstanding field of Late Models into the racy High-Banked quarter mile dirt oval. Last season this event drew over 130 entries in all classes as Anderson had to overcome RC Whitwell and Jesse Stovall in taking his first ever Springfield victory. So far this season in the battle between MLRA/MARS Late Models at Springfield it has been Brad Looney, Anderson, and Jesse Stovall capturing wins.
Racing action will begin at 6:30 with the first race rolling out and Grandstand Admission will be $20. Pit Passes will be $35 for this stellar event. Rain date will be Saturday September 22nd.
