Eldora Speedway(September 4, 2012) After last weekend’s rain-out of the ‘Wix Filters Baltes Classic’ at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, Dan Schlieper will now turn his focus to the 42nd Annual ‘World 100’ at the “Big E.” Dan will make his season debut in the most prestigious event in the Dirt Late Model industry on September 7-8 at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant. Qualifying will take place on Friday night, while the heat races, consolation events, and the $45,000 to win ‘World 100’ are all slated for Saturday evening.

Dan will be behind the wheel of a Mark Saul-owned entry that will memorialize the late Richard “Pops” Sheltra. Richard passed away on June 9, 2012 and many of the Sheltra family members will be in attendance this weekend. Mark was the crew chief for the Sheltra Motorsports dirt operation for several years and Dan was very close to the Sheltra’s as well. The #23 Rocket car that the 2003 ‘World 100’ winner will pilot this weekend will be adorned with a special paint scheme for Richard “Pops” Sheltra, along with the familiar sponsorship logos of Sheltra & Sons Construction and All About Flowers.

Car owner Mark Saul and Dan Schlieper would like to thank everyone that has supported them for the upcoming ‘World 100′ including: The Jones Group, Pro Power Racing, Bill & Josie Schlieper, Duane Chamberlain Racing, TJ & Jake Dolhun – Wisconsin Steel, Wide Open Graphics, Motorstate, Allstar Performance, Peterson Fluid Systems, Ohlins Shocks, Wiles Driveshafts, Sweet Mfg., VP Race Fuels, Wilwood Engineering, Five Star Bodies, Mason Racin’, K-B Carburetors, and Race Parts Fabrication by Chamberlain.
