(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team invaded the Mountaineer State of West Virginia from August 31-September 2 for a trio of high-profile races. On Friday and Saturday, the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia was the track of choice by hosting the ‘Black Diamond 125.’ In the $8,000 to win UFO Race Championship show on Friday night, Dennis Erb, Jr. ran third in his heat race, won his B-Main, and later moved up to tenth in the 50-lap main event. Saturday’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series portion of the ‘Black Diamond 125’ was unfortunately washed out by Mother Nature.
Labor Day weekend wrapped up for the #28 team on Sunday at the I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the annual ‘Hillbilly Hundred’ and a hefty $25,000 top prize was on the line. Dennis finished ninth in his loaded heat race, but later advanced up to third in his B-Main to earn the twenty-second starting spot in the 100-lapper. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace was eventually credited with a sixteenth place effort in the historic ‘Hillbilly Hundred.’ Full results from the action-packed holiday weekend can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com.
Up next for Dennis Erb Racing will be their yearly trek to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 7-8 for the 42nd Annual ‘World 100.’ The biggest event in the Dirt Late Model industry will kick-off this Friday night with qualifying, while heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap main event are slated for Saturday evening. The victor of the 2012 ‘World 100’ will receive a $45,000 winner’s check and the famous globe trophy. Dennis finished fourteenth in last year’s version of the ‘World 100,’ while he claimed an impressive fifth place outing in the $100k ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ back in June.
