World of Outlaws Late Model Series‘Photobilly 50’ On Sept. 14 At Belle-Clair Now $12,000 To Win, Pepsi Nationals On Sept. 15 At Federated Offering $1,000 To Start

CONCORD, NC – Sept. 5, 2012 – One of the most anticipated weekends on the 2012 World of Outlaws Late Model Series schedule has grown even bigger.

That national tour’s upcoming doubleheader at two challenging, action-packed St. Louis-area bullrings – Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Ill., on Sept. 14 and Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., on Sept. 15 – will offer increased purses, track and series officials announced on Wednesday.

Thanks to additional sponsorship support, the ‘Photobilly 50’ at Belle-Clair now boasts a $12,000 top prize and $1,000 last-place payoff and the Pepsi Nationals at Federated Auto Parts Raceway will have its A-Main start money boosted to $1,000.

Belle-Clair’s inaugural WoO LMS event – a race run in memory of late track photographer Charles (‘Photobilly’) Haffer Jr., who lost his life on Aug. 7 at the age of 44 in a tragic Iowa highway accident – was already set to be the richest dirt Late Model show in the history of the one-fifth-mile fairgrounds oval. But local businesses decided to step up with backing that pushes the winner’s check from $10,000 to $12,000 and the start reward from $700 to a cool $1,000, ensuring an unforgettable program to honor the beloved ‘Photobilly.’

The sponsorship support was so great, in fact, that the businesses also contributed to the Pepsi Nationals purse at Federated Auto Parts Raceway, making that 55-lap, $10,000-to-win event more lucrative as well.

“We’re just thrilled that so many people are coming together to make the first-ever World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at Belle-Clair Speedway a race that truly remembers ‘Photobilly’ in a special way,” said Belle-Clair promoter Donnie Hoener. “With the biggest race in the history of Belle-Clair Speedway being followed by the prestigious Pepsi Nationals (at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55), fans and racers can look forward to one of the most exciting weekends of dirt Late Model racing ever seen in the St. Louis area.”

Reserved seat tickets for both the ‘Photobilly 50’ at Belle-Clair and the Pepsi Nationals at Federated Auto Parts Raceway are now available for purchase on-line at www.worldofoutlaws.com/tickets or by calling 1-877-395-8606.
