World of Outlaws Late Model Series(MUSCATINE, IOWA) A week after grabbing his second globe trophy, Brian Birkhofer returned to Dirt Late Model competition on Saturday, September 15 at the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. The annual running of the ‘Pepsi Nationals’ was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and boasted a $10,000 winner’s check. Brian timed in sixth quickest during qualifying and later posted a second place heat race finish. After drawing the inside third row starting spot prior to the 55-lapper, the Muscatine, Iowa ace fell out of the top ten early in the race before charging back to earn an impressive podium finish. Brian trailed only winner Dennis Erb, Jr. and runner-up Billy Moyer to the checkers at Pevely. Full results can be obtained by logging onto www.worldofoutlaws.com.

The Birkhofer Racing team will now turn their focus to the 33rd Annual ‘Jackson 100’ on September 21-22 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over the biggie at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds complex this weekend and a $20,000 top prize will be on the line. Qualifying will take place on Friday night, while action will really heat up on Saturday evening with heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap feature event. Brian won the ‘Jackson 100’ back in 2001 and will be looking for his second title this weekend. Additional information can be viewed by pointing your Internet browser to www.lucasdirt.com.
