World of Outlaws Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team captured their seventh feature win of 2012 on Saturday night, September 15 at the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri! The World of Outlaws Late Model Series presided over the annual running of the ‘Pepsi Nationals’ at the St. Louis area venue and a strong field of competitors piled into the pit area. Dennis Erb, Jr. laid down the twelfth quickest lap during the qualifying session and later ran second in his heat race. After drawing the outside second row starting spot prior to the 55-lapper, Dennis took the lead on the first circuit and commanded the field on three separate occasions. When the dust had settled at Pevely, Dennis emerged victorious to claim the $10,000 payday over Billy Moyer, Brian Birkhofer, Darrell Lanigan, and Chub Frank!

A night earlier, the #28 team tackled another World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdown, this time at the tiny Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois. The inaugural running of the ‘Photobilly 50’ paid $12,000 to the winner. Dennis timed in twenty-second fastest of the 52 entrants during qualifying and later grabbed the second transfer position through his heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace was then running a solid seventh in the 50-lap A-Main when a flat right rear tire relegated him to a disappointing seventeenth place performance. Full results from the WOOLMS double-dip can be viewed online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

“With all of the mechanical issues we have had lately, we really needed that Pepsi Nationals win on Saturday night at Pevely,” quoted Erb this week via telephone. “Our car was really strong all night and me and Darrell (Lanigan) had a pretty good race for the lead throughout the feature. I am glad that we came out on top and hopefully that gives us some momentum heading into the rest of the year.”

Next up for the Dennis Erb Racing team will be another World of Outlaws Late Model Series program on September 21-22 in the Wolverine State of Michigan. The Keyser Manufacturing ‘Down & Dirty 100’ will be held this weekend at the renowned Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. Over 300 truckloads of clay has covered the 7/16-mile asphalt oval in preparation for the $20,000 to win mega-event. Qualifying and heat races are scheduled for Friday night, while the consolation races and the 100-lap A-Main are slated for Saturday evening.
