Knoxville Raceway(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team made a rare trip to the Wolverine State of Michigan on September 21-22 for the inaugural running of the ‘Down & Dirty 100’ at the renowned Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. Over 300 truckloads of clay was placed on the 7/16-mile asphalt oval for the historic race, which boasted a hefty $20,000 top prize. After rain showers invaded the area on Friday night, the entire show was condensed into a one-day format on Saturday.

Billy Moyer laid down the second quickest lap in World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying and later took the win in his heat race. After drawing the fourth starting spot prior to the ‘Down & Dirty 100,’ Billy raced into the lead on lap 23 and held the top spot all the way up to the 95th circuit. Eventual winner Darrell Lanigan made contact with Moyer’s famed #21 to grab the point in the waning laps and Billy was forced to settle for a strong runner-up performance. Complete results from Berlin can be viewed online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

Next up for the BMR team will be a visit to the Hawkeye State for the ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ The 9th annual version of the crown jewel extravaganza will take place from September 27-29 at the famous Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. A pair of $7,000 to win preliminary shows are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, while the 100-lapper at the 1/2-mile Marion County fairgrounds oval on Saturday shells out an impressive $40,000 to the victor.

Lucas Oil Production Studios will also be on hand to tape this mega-event for a SPEED and MAVTV broadcast later in the fall. Billy was the 2010 winner of the ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ and will be seeking his second race title this weekend.
