Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team invaded the historic Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on September 27-29 for the 9th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again presided over the three-day extravaganza at Knoxville, which kicked off with a pair of $7,000 to win preliminary shows. On Thursday night, Dennis Erb, Jr. finished seventh in his heat race and eighteenth in the B-Main, while he wound up fifth in both his heat race and B-Main on Friday evening. Unfortunately, Dennis was unable to transfer into both 25-lap preliminary feature events.

Things went much smoother for the #28 team on Saturday at the 1/2-mile Marion County speedplant. Dennis took the win in the B-Main, which locked him into the twenty-fifth starting spot for the $40,000 to win crown jewel event. During the course of the 100-lap ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals,’ which was contested in front of a huge crowd and the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace blasted past thirteen competitors to claim a steady twelfth place performance. Full results from the weekend at Knoxville can be located online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Dennis Erb Racing will now set their sights on the annual running of the ‘UMP Nationals’ on October 5-6 at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Qualifying will take place for the final UMP DIRTcar Series event of 2012 on Friday night, while the heat races, consolation events, and the 40-lap A-Main are slated for Saturday evening. Dennis emerged victorious in the ‘UMP Nationals’ at the “Big E” back in 2009 and will be looking to add another race title to his resume this weekend. Additional information on the $5,000 to win event can be accessed by clicking on www.eldoraspeedway.com.
