(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) The D&R Motorsports team and driver Ray Cook tackled the Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia and the Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia on October 6-7 for a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles. On Saturday night at Dixie, Ray laid down the fastest lap of the 49 entrants during qualifying and later won his heat race to earn the outside pole position for the 50-lap ‘Dixie Shootout.’ After pacing the stellar field for the first five circuits, Ray was forced to give up the point under caution due to a broken right front lower control arm. The Brasstown, North Carolina star was relegated to a disappointing twenty-second place performance.

At Rome on Sunday evening, Ray grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race to earn the fifteenth starting position in the 50-lap ‘Rome Rumble.’ The popular driver known as the “Tarheel Tiger” then moved up seven spots at the undersized 1/2-mile oval to claim a strong eighth place effort. Ray and the #53 team have a busy weekend ahead of them on October 13-14, as they will enter Super Late Model and Crate Late Model events at both the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia and East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama. Ray is already locked into the ‘Alabama State Race’ feature events at EAMS following a rain-out back on September 30. His schedule for this weekend is as follows:

October 13 | North Georgia Speedway, Super Late Model | $4,000 to win
October 13 | North Georgia Speedway, Crate Late Model | $1,500 to win
October 14 | East Alabama Motor Speedway, Super Late Model | $7,000 to win
October 14 | East Alabama Motor Speedway, Crate Late Model | $5,000 to win
