Oh What a Season! – 2012 Best Year Yet
As the leaves fall, so does the checkered flag on the most successful season in Jim Moon’s late model career. Many achievements were accomplished in the 2012 season that Moon himself never thought could happen. The momentum is definitely in Team Moonman’s corner going into the 2013 season.
After leading the UMP DIRTcar National points pre-Summernationals, Moon was excited to be that high in points. A win at Montgomery County in Missouri was already an improvement on 2011. Then back-to-back wins at Belle Clair, made the 2012 campaign a huge success. Finishing the season on a strong note was the goal.
When the last races were run, strong finishes is what Moon did. Montgomery County awarded the 1 team with a track championship. With a runner-up in points at Belle-Clair, Illinois then a top five at Quincy, Illinois.
