Talladega Short Track(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Only six weeks removed from his 2012 season-ending ‘Turkey 100’ triumph at the Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia, which netted him $20,000, Ray Cook will look to open up his 2013 campaign in winning fashion this weekend. The ’13 lid lifter for the Brasstown, North Carolina driver will take place on January 5-6 at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama. The ‘Ice Bowl XXII’ will be held at TST and Ray will enter both a Super Late Model and Crate Late Model.

The popular driver known as the “Tarheel Tiger” will jump behind the wheel of Joe Denby’s #27 machine to vie for the $6,000 top prize in the Super Late Model portion of the ‘Ice Bowl’ weekend. Ray will then drive his familiar #53 in hopes of picking up the $3,000 winner’s share in the Crate Late Model division. He is a multiple time winner of the ‘Ice Bowl,’ as he took the checkers at the track deemed as the “Hornets Nest” in 2009 and 2012. Additional information concerning this weekend’s festivities at TST can be accessed online at www.talladegashorttrack.com.
