NDRL - National Dirt Racing LeaguePittsburgh, PA (March 21, 2013) As the NDRL’s inaugural weekend draws near, NDRL officials would like to welcome ‘Responsible Racers’ to their marketing team for the 2013 season.

Responsible Racers is an organization to help raise awareness on responsible drinking. It is their goal for the racing community to be safe while enjoying the sport of dirt late model racing. As a part of their involvement with the NDRL and the ‘Let’s Get Dirty Tour’, Responsible Racers will offer a $200 cash award to the driver who advances the most positions during the A-Main at each of the five NDRL ‘Let’s Get Dirty Tour’ events.

‘The ‘Responsible Racers Hard Charger Award’ is another added bonus for drivers to come compete with us,’ NDRL Owner John Kennedy exclaimed. ‘We’re extremely pleased to be working with an organization like Responsible Racers; we support their mission 100% and want to help get their message out to race fans everywhere.’

‘We have been around and involved in racing our entire lives. In that time we have seen a need to raise awareness of being responsible while drinking,’ Responsible Racers representative Roger Stryker said. ‘Race people are some of the best in the world and we just want them to be safe. Our message is just a reminder to think about your actions. We know how the racing community stands together and supports one another. That is what we are doing. Helping one another out is how we protect one another.’

Stryker continued about the Responsible Racers mission, ‘We want fans to go out and have a good time but to do so responsibly. Things like a designated driver, knowing your limits, and never driving impaired, are a part of our mission. We are not against drinking, nor trying to stop anyone from doing so. Our only goal is to prevent anyone getting hurt while doing so. Please use your best judgment the next time you have some drinks. Think about your plans on travel and plan accordingly. We can all have a fun safe time if we all respect each other and the laws to keep us safe. So let’s work together by being the sober driver that night or stopping someone who is impaired from driving. You’re not only helping them but our entire racing community.’ Additional information on Responsible Racers can be found on their website located at www.responsibleracers.com.
