(April 28, 2013) Muskogee, OK – After wet conditions forced the postponement of the 2nd Annual Charlie Fulton Memorial Friday at Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, OK, Sunday offered chamber of commerce type weather, much to everyone’s delight. Brad Looney started the Lucas Oil MLRA feature event from the inside of the second row and never looked back. He took the lead exiting turn two and rolled to his first Late Model win of the season. His Sunday effort was worth $3,000.

“On the start everything just hit perfect,” said Looney. “My car was just extremely good. Once I got into the groove and got some laps going and got by Phillips, it just felt like everything was going to be right tonight.” Sunday’s triumph marks Looney’s first ever visit to victory lane at the 1/2 mile Muskogee oval.

Will Vaught continued his string of consistency, with his second runner up finish of the young season. He now holds a twenty-four point advantage in the standings. Terry Phillips was the KRC Top Qualifier and started on the pole. He was near the front throughout and finished third. Jesse Stovall was in the hunt over the first half of the feature, but he drew a yellow on lap twelve, as he sat in turn four. John Anderson and Mark Dotson competed the top five.

Full Championship Standings, Casey’s Hard Charger Standings and Sunoco Rookie of the Year Standings will be available on MLRARacing.com.

The next race will commence Thursday, May 23rd, at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO as part of the 21st Annual Lucas Oil Show Me 100 Presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com weekend. It will pay $5,000 to win and $500 to start.
