ASHLAND, KY (May 9, 2013) – Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series regular, Steve Francis of Ashland, KY picked up his first win driving for Clint Bowyer Racing last Friday Night, May 3rd at Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, OH.

Steve dominated the $4,000 to win Southern 100 preliminary night as he earned a starting spot in Saturday’s 60-lap $12,000 to win finale. Steve would take the lead during the special event, but he would suffer a flat tire while out in front. He was credited with a 13th place finish.

Steve and the Clint Bowyer Racing Team will be in action this weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at La Salle Speedway in La Salle, IL for the Annual Spring Shootout. There will be two complete shows for the LOLMDS on Friday Night, May 10th and Saturday Night, May 11th. Both events will pay $10,000 to win. Steve is currently sixth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Points Standings. In the previous two LOLMDS for Steve he finished fourth at Hagerstown (MD) Speedway on April 20th and was running in the top five at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV on April 21st when he was knocked out of competition relegating him to 21st place finish.
