HIghland SpeedwayHIGHLAND, IL (June 19, 2013) CHS is excited to present Leaps of Love Family Fun Night at Highland Speedway on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Leaps of Love is a nonprofit, Highland based organization that embraces families affected by childhood brain tumors and late-effects of childhood cancer by providing hope, strength, and encouragement to meet challenges they face today as well as the long term effects of tomorrow. There will be many of the families that Leap of Love helps at the track that afternoon playing games, meeting the drivers as they arrive. “The kids are still talking about the Leaps of Love Night from last year, and they are looking forward to the fun that this night brings. They are so excited to not only be there, but to have the opportunity to greet the drivers.” For more information about Leaps of Love, call 618-410-7212 or go to their website at http://www.leapsoflove.org/ or contact Traci Riechmann at traci@leapsoflove.org. Bring the family out for a fun night of racing action that features the UMP Late Models, UMP Steve Schmitt Modifieds, UMP Miller Lite Crates, UMP B-Dry Solutions SportMods, & UMP Hamel Coop Street Stocks. This Saturday also brings the Double Down Crates back to Highland Speedway. Don’t forget to take your chance at the Pick 3 Contest, come out and try your chance at the $100 jackpot brought to you by the Huddle House.

Chad Zobrist had dominated the UMP Late Models at Highland Speedway this season, taking home 4 checkered flags and coming in second only to Michael Kloos on April 6th and second to Michael Jacober on March 30th. A $500 bounty has been put out on Chad Zobrist and goes to the winner that can knock him out of the CC Food Mart Victory Lane this week. To be eligible for the $500 Bounty Money, the driver MUST announce on Highland Speedway Facebook page that they will be coming on Saturday night to knock Zobrist out of Victory Lane. Drivers can also be eligible by calling Track Manager Sue Zobrist at 618-644-5441 to let us know your intention of running for the bounty money.

We will be starting the program a little early this week, due to the Leaps of Love Family Fun Night activities. The Leaps of Love kids will be presenting our national anthem and having special intermission activities. Pits Open at 3:00 pm, Grandstands Open at 5:30 pm, Pill Draw by 5:45 pm, Drivers Meeting at 5:45 pm, Hot Laps at 6:00 pm, and Racing starts at 6:30 pm. Pit Passes are $30.00 and pit passes for kids 10 and under are $15.00 (Kids in the pits must have parental supervision at all times.)

The Huddle House is proud to present this seasons Pick 3 Contest. Don’t forget to get your Pick 3 ticket with your paid adult grandstand admission. Guess the winners of the 3 chosen Features at Highland Speedway during the night. Turn in your guess to the grandstand gate before the dashes start. If you pick the correct 3 winners, you have a chance to win part or the entire $100 jackpot. If there are more than one correct guesses, money will be split between all the correct guesses. If there are more than 10 correct winners, one winner will be chosen randomly for the entire jackpot. If no one guesses correctly, the money will roll over until a winner is correct. We switch up classes every week. Cards are being provided by Tribout Carnival Supply.
