(July 17, 2013) Wheatland, MO – This Thursday, Friday and Saturday July 18-20th is the running of the “Silver Dollar Nationals” at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE. This crown jewel event gets underway on Thursday night, July 18th with an open practice for both the Super Late Models and USMTS Modifieds. Thursday night’s action includes a complete show for the SLMR Late Model/CDM Late Model Challenge, the Nebraska 360 Sprint Cars and B Mods.

Then on Friday night, July 19th the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Lucas Oil MLRA will run heat races lined up by pill draw and using the passing points system. Each Late Model competitor will compete in two separate heats on Friday night. The USMTS Modified Series will run a complete show on Friday night, in conjunction with the LOLMDS and MLRA. Then on Saturday night July 20th the Late Models will run B-mains and a Belt Bash Non-Qualifiers Race paying $2,700 to win and $300 to start – to drivers failing to make the feature event. Following the B-Mains and Non-Qualifiers race on Saturday, the stars and cars of the LOLMDS will compete in the 80 lap Silver Dollar Nationals feature event that will pay $27,000 to the winner and $1,300 to start. The USMTS Modifieds will run a full show on Saturday night as well. For tickets and information about I-80 Speedway visit the track website at I-80Speedway.com.

Lucas Oil MLRA reigning champion and Omaha, Nebraska resident John Anderson always gets a little more fired up for the Silver Dollar Nationals. “It’s really exciting for the fans and racers in this area to get a big race so close to home,” commented Anderson. “I’ve turned into a little bit of a promoter to try a get a few more people out to the race. I want this thing to grow and be successful for years to come.”

Anderson also has a good track record at I-80 Speedway. “I really enjoy racing there and this event brings in so many talented teams you really have to be on top of your game to have a shot. We’ve always had good equipment and stayed up with the race track. This weekend I’ll have a little extra help from Bryan Larimore. We’re getting faster overall and have found some things recently which should give us a little more speed this weekend.”

LOLMDS marketing partner Scott Crawford of Crawford Supply/Traeger Grills has posted a special $1,000 cash bonus to the driver that earns the most series points at the Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway on July 13th and the Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80 Speedway on July 20th.

Fans unable to attend this weekend’s race can access DirtOnDirt.com for a live pay-per-view of the entire weekend.
