Riggs Motorsports in Action at Pevely and Fairbury; Big Three Day Weekend Ahead

DIRTcar(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) The Riggs Motorsports team headed in different directions over the July 26-27 weekend. Following a rain-out on Friday at the Tri-City (IL) Speedway, Jason Riggs was in action on Saturday evening at the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. Jason finished fifth in his heat race, but was later involved in a lap 15 wreck during the $1,000 to win weekly main event, which relegated the Harrisburg, Illinois ace to a disappointing twenty-fourth place performance.

Randy Korte ventured to the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois over the weekend for the 24th edition of the ‘Prairie Dirt Classic.’ The World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned the storied race for the first time and a whopping $20,000 payday was on the line. On Friday evening, Randy timed in ninth quickest in Group B during qualifying and later grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the 100-lapper from the outside of the ninth row on Saturday, Randy unfortunately retired after only 62 circuits and wound up twenty-third in the final rundown. Both Riggs Motorsports drivers will return to slinging dirt this weekend (August 1-3) in the states of Kentucky and Illinois. Jason Riggs will bring his #81jr machine to the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Thursday for a special NASCAR Night, which boasts a $1,200 payday. Randy Korte is scheduled to compete in a pair of weekly UMP DIRTcar Series showdowns on Friday and Saturday at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and the Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois.
