Jason Utter wins $10,000 at West Liberty Raceway

The annual summer classic at the historic West Liberty Raceway half mile track is known for legendary racers and races in the State of Iowa and the “Tornado Tuesday” Open Late Model Shootout by Simmons Promotions Inc., added another stellar event to the history books last night.

Jason Utter from nearby Columbus Junction Iowa ran down a streaking Chad Simpson and held off Muscatine Iowa’s and World 100 Champion Brian Birkhofer to win the biggest race of his career. It was emotional in Victory Lane for Jason with family and friends surrounding the talented driver.

Brian Birkhofer held on for second with Don O’Neal in the Larry Moring Motorsports #1 claiming 3rd. Chad Simpson stayed strong over the 50 laps for 4th and Dave Eckrich climbed into the 5th place spot.
