Pevely, MO (August 8th, 2013) This Saturday night, Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 will remember Laura Jones-Jumper with a special night of racing in her honor. Laura contributed a lot at the track as she worked in the track office, tended to VIP’s in the track’s suites and many other things as well. However, Laura biggest contribution to the track still happens every year, it is the huge kid’s night that takes place in late July every season. Laura was the key person in organizing the event every season and she grew it to one of the largest kid’s night in the country for a dirt track. Each season the kid’s night draws over 1,000 kids to pick up coins from the track along with giving out 100’s of prizes that she worked for months each year getting donations for.
UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP/AARA Sportsman, UMP/AARA Pro 4 Stocks along with UMP/AARA Pure Stocks will be on the card competing this Saturday. An additional $5,000 will be added to the purse with the majority of the money going to the backend of feature finishers.
Impressive Race Cars has donated beautiful trophies for all five divisions along with a $100 hard charger award for each of the five divisions. Impressive Race Car owner Donnie Jumper and Laura were married and have a teenage son named Shane.
The UMP Late Models will pay $150 to start the feature while the UMP Modifieds will pay $100 to start. The UMP/AARA Sportsman will pay $80 to start while the UMP/AARA Pro 4 Stocks will pay $30 to start. The UMP/AARA Pure Stocks will pay $500 to win and $50 to start.
Pits gates will open at 4pm and the grandstands will open at 5pm with racing at 7pm. Grandstand admission is $15 with kids 12 years and younger free. Pit admission will be $30 with kids 6-12 years old getting in for $15. Kids 5 years and younger are free in the pits.
Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 is located 30 minutes south of downtown St. Louis on Interstate 55 in Pevely, MO at exits 180 and 178.
