DIRTcar(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) The Riggs Motorsports team and driver Randy Korte struck out to the Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois on Friday night, August 9 to kick off a three-race American Late Model Series (ALMS) weekend. Randy started seventh on the grid in the $3,000 to win feature event and climbed two positions during the race to finish fifth in final rundown behind only race winner Brian Shirley, Jason Feger, Kevin Weaver, and Ryan Unzicker. Unfortunately, motor issues from the Kankakee event caused the Highland, Illinois ace to skip Saturday’s program at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway and Sunday’s showdown at the Quincy Raceway. Full results from Friday can be located online at www.americanlatemodelseries.com.

Next up for Randy “King Kong” Korte will be a pair of UMP DIRTcar Series weekly events on August 16-17 at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. Jason Riggs will also be in action this upcoming weekend, as he plans to tackle another weekly program at the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday evening, August 17.
