NDRL - National Dirt Racing LeaguePittsburgh, PA (August 29, 2013) The National Dirt Racing League’s (NDRL) ‘Let’s Get Dirty Tour’ will return to action this upcoming Monday, September 2 at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, PA for a huge Labor Day extravaganza featuring the $20,000 to-win ‘Let’s Get Dirty 75’ for the NDRL’s ‘Kings of Dirt’ and a $2,000 to-win event for the Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH Dirt Late Model Series.

NDRL championship point leader Jimmy Mars used finishes of third and second at the first two mini-series events at Paducah (KY) International Raceway and Federated Auto Parts Raceway in Pevely, Missouri in April to secure the points lead heading into the tour’s final three events.

‘It would definitely be awesome,’ the Menomonie, Wisconsin driver said about claiming the first ever NDRL Championship. ‘I’m excited to get out and maintain those points or if I win the race, obviously I’ll have a chance at it. It’s a matter of turning things around, I feel like there’s a weekend that we do and then next I kind of fall off. I’m not whining or complaining that’s just the way it’s been. But I’m very optimistic going into this weekend.’

Mars will have to hold off ‘Mr. Smooth’ Billy Moyer from Batesville, Arkansas who sits second in the NDRL Championship point standings a mere four points behind Mars while Mars’ MB Customs ‘teammate’ Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, Iowa sits third just six point back. Shinnston, West Virginia’s Josh Richards is fourth in points 16 points behind the leader and just six points ahead of Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpenterville, Illinois who is fifth in championship points.

Mars has visited the unique Markleysburg, Pennsylvania oval one time, during the 2011 Appalachian Mountain Speedweek where he finished 25th in the main event, “Definitely a unique track in the way it’s built,’ said Mars, ‘but it’s a track that goes out on a limb, so it’s a place that you have to try to make yourself good at. We’ve been to more unique places but I think if we can get our stuff in sync, I have as good a chance as anybody to be a contender.’

An unprecedented list of stars are expected to be in attendance including NDRL point leader Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, WI, Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR, Muscatine, IA’s Brian Birkhofer, Josh Richards of Shinnston, WV, Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, IL , Eddie Carrier Jr., of Salt Rock, WV, Ashland, KY’s Steve Francis, the Kennedy Motorsports drivers, Shane Clanton of Zebulon, GA, Tim Fuller of Watertown, NY, Bub McCool of Vicksburg, MS, and Vic Coffey of Caledonia, NY. Also expected to be in attendance are local and regional stars like Davey Johnson, Mason Zeigler, Jacob Hawkins, Jared Hawkins, Jeremy Miller, Gregg Satterlee, Cody Hardesty, Dan Stone, Keith Barbara, Chuck Harper, and Roaring Knob point leader Tim Scenic as well as many others.

Tickets are available online at the NDRL’s official website, www.theNDRL.com. Ticket prices for the $20,000 to-win, Let’s Get Dirty 75 featuring the NDRL Super Late Models and the Sweeney Chevrolet-Buick-GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex are $35 ($30 pre-order) for general admission and $40 for pit entry.

The NDRL will offer a free Fan Pit Pass at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex to any general admission ticket holder that donates a toy ($5 minimum with receipt) to Racers for Tots.

Pit gates and driver registration will open at 11:00am while the grandstand gates will open at 1:00pm. Fans can enjoy a pre-race, holiday concert by Cody McCarver at 2:00pm before the driver autograph session will be held at 3:30pm. The night’s driver’s meeting will be held at approximately 5:30pm with hot laps scheduled for 6:00pm. The Open Throttle 360 Time Trials will take place immediately after hot laps with racing starting at approximately 6:30pm. Legendary Entertainment will provide a holiday pyrotechnics and fireworks display when racing has concluded.
