Eldora Speedway(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) The Iron Motorsports team rolled into the dirt-covered Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan on September 20-21 for a huge World of Outlaws Late Model Series extravaganza. Following a rain-out of Friday’s racing action, the entire show was condensed into a one-day, $15,000 to win program on Saturday. Jeep Van Wormer started his night by clicking off the third fastest lap in Group B during the WOOLMS qualifying session.

Jeep then finished a strong second in his heat race behind only prelim winner Darrell Lanigan and later drew the fifth starting spot for the ‘Down & Dirty 75.’ The Pinconning, Michigan ace ran amongst the top five early in the 75-lapper, but wound up suffering problems (hit inside utility tire) and retired after only 62 circuits due to a flat tire. Jeep was ultimately paid for seventeenth at the pay window following the ‘Down & Dirty 75.’ Complete results from Berlin Raceway can be viewed online at www.woolms.com.

The #55 team is now eyeing a weekend off from racing action on September 27-28, but will return to competition the following weekend. Next up will be the annual ‘UMP Nationals’ at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Saturday evening, October 5. A full show is on tap for the Late Models headlined by a $5,000 to win main event. In recent years, Jeep won the ‘UMP Nationals’ in 2011, while he finished a strong fifth in last year’s version of the storied race.
