USCSPoplar Bluff, MO – October 10, 2013 – After a successful USCS vs. URC North vs. South Shootout in the Carolinas last weekend the United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters travels to the Midwest on Saturday night October 12th to headline the Saturday evening portion of the 13th annual Cotton Boll Cup presented by Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff Missouri. This will be the first time ever that sprint car racing has been part of the special event held formerly at Malden Speedway. It will also be the first ever visit for the United Sprint Car Series to visit the 3/8 mile clay oval located two miles East of downtown Poplar Bluff and just of US Highway 60. The USCS sprint car portion of the event will pay $2000 to win and it is possible for one driver to win $2100 by winning the Hoosier Speed Dash and A-feature. Sprint car driver entries are expected from at least six states for the next to last weekend of the 2013 season for the USCS.

The USCS sprint cars will run their complete program during Saturday’s portion of the three-day event that starts on Thursday evening with an open practice and Bar-B-Q dinner sponsored by Mike and Zack’s Bar-B-Q to GO. On Friday night two other USCS divisions compete. The www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints contest a complete racing program with a dash, heat races and features. The K&N Filters Outlaw Modifieds contest their qualifying races on Friday night as do the Crate Late Models, Super Street/Hobby, Pure Street, E-MODS and Mini Stock divisions.

Lots of side by side racing in eight divisions including the USCS winged sprint cars, K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series, www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series mini sprints, Crate Late Models, Super Street/Hobby Stock, Street Stock, E-MOD and Mini Stock classes is promised. In total there are over 200 laps of Championship main events with over $40,000 up for grabs.

The USCS sprint car drivers and teams will have a pre-event practice opportunity at Poplar Bluff Speedway on Friday, October 11th. The practice session is scheduled to make time available for the sprint car drivers three times during the Friday evening pole-qualifying rounds for six divisions. The USCS 600 mini sprints will contest two complete racing programs on both Friday and Saturday nights. Each night has $500 posted for the winner of the A-Main event.

The event will feature a USCS triple-header including a $2000 to win the 30-lap K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series “Cotton Boll Cup” Championship A-Main on Saturday. With all posted prizes, $2100 is possible to win in the USCS Modified division.

Hoosier sprint car racing tires and methanol will be available at the speedway both nights.
