Shuman takes Springfield, Moore wins WAR

Springfield RacewaySpringfield, MO(October 26,2013)- Taking the lead from Josh Stephens on lap ten, Casey Shuman won the WAR Series A-Main presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps at Springfield Raceway Saturday night.

Shuman  took the win in his Jesse Hockett Racing entry  as he was followed  to the checkered flag by Stephens.  Casey Willis moved up to third from eleventh with Mark Finnell finishing fourth from his fourteenth starting spot.  Danny Thoman rounded out the top five.   John Helm was sixth followed by Aaron Kuhn from seventeenth.    Steven Cross was eighth from eighteenth with Layne Himebaugh and Chad Shields rounding out the top ten.

Mitchell Moore, last year’s runner-up in points, is this year’s WAR Series champion.   Moore dropped out late in the race running third, but he had already clinched the championship by taking the green flag in the A-Main.
Taylor Walton finished second in the season long points race.  Walton was running fourth when he dropped out on lap fourteen.

Austin Alumbaugh, last year’s WAR champ, flipped wildly at the start of his heat race and was transported to a local hospital.
