Comp Cams Super Dirt SeriesBeebe, Arkansas (11/21/13) – In what has already been a historically busy off-season for the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) with the tour making several strategic moves and partnerships for the 2014 season, officials with the series have begun releasing information for the upcoming campaign. This includes the initial batch of dates as well as news of the renewal with COMP Cams as title sponsor.

The CCSDS warriors will embark on their 2014 season on April 5th and 6th as the tour co-sanctions a pair of events for the first time ever with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). On Friday, April 5th Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana) will host a $10,000-to-win show, while Saturday April 6th will see the CCSDS being a part of an event for the first time ever at Outlaw Motor Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma) as another $10,000-to-win slate is held.

The following weekend will see a pair of $2,000-to-win events contested in the series home state of Arkansas with a trip to Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) on Friday, April 11th before Northeast Arkansas Speedway (Harrisburg, Arkansas) hosts the tour the next night.

Over the next several months the tour will contest multiple two day weekends with mainstays on the tour making appearances including Camden Speedway (Camden, Tennessee), Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas), Crawford County Speedway (Van Buren, Arkansas), I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas), Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas), Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi), North Central Arkansas Speedway (Flippin, Arkansas), Diamond Park Speedway (Nashville, Arkansas), Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana), and more.

Tri State Speedway (Pocola, Oklahoma) will return to the schedule on July 12th with a $2,500-to-win event as part of a doubleheader weekend with North Central Arkansas Speedway.

The month of August will be an extremely busy time for the tour with several events held including the proud announcement that for the first time ever the CCSDS will co-sanction the COMP Cams Topless 100 alongside of the LOLMDS at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas). The $40,000-to-win event will definitely be a high point on the 2014 docket for the tour.

August 29th-30th will be a big weekend on the 2014 schedule for the CCSDS as the tour makes its first ever appearances at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Arkansas) and Poplar Bluff Speedway (Poplar Bluff, Missouri) as both ovals will see their respective programs highlighted by a $3,000-to-win feature.

The 2014 COMP Cams Super Dirt Series campaign is currently slated to come to an end on September 13th at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas), although more dates may be added.

“This schedule that we have put together so far for 2014 is one that we hope the racers will find to be a travel friendly one,” commented CCSDS CEO, Chris Ellis. “While many tours seem to be determined to add as many dates as possible we’ve made a strong effort to condense our schedule and offer a doubleheader every weekend that we run. We don’t want to race our guys to death, but at the same time we want to make sure that all of the tracks in the region, who want a CCSDS date get the opportunity.”

In other news the CCSDS is proud to announce that COMP Cams has been resigned as title sponsor of the tour for the next several seasons. The Memphis, Tennessee based company, who is the leader in valve train technology, has been a longtime supporter of the CCSDS, and will continue their much valued support in 2014 and beyond.

“What the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series strives to provide the racers and the fans is a really great thing for the mid-south area,” notes COMP Cams Vice President of Marketing, Chris Douglas. “Chris (Ellis) and everyone with the series does a great job of running a professional organization and putting on a great show each and every night. It is our honor to continue our involvement with their great series.”

More big news regarding the CCSDS will be released in the next few weeks as some exciting sponsorship announcements will soon be made in addition to the expected addition of a few more dates to the schedule. An increased purse is also expected to be announced for many of the 2014 dates.
