Welcome, North Carolina (02/19/13) – Team Dillon Racing with Ty Dillon and Austin Dillon enjoyed a stellar outing during the 43rd Annual DIRTCar Nationals presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) as the duo accounted for five wins in seven events!

Team Dillon Racing went into battle against a strong field of close to 60 UMP DIRTCar Open Wheel Modifieds on a nightly basis for the past week. After battling track conditions the first two nights Ty Dillon scored the first victory in his #41 Ferris Commercial Mowers/UNOH/Bandit by Mark Bush Racing/Clements Racing Engine entry with a shootout triumph over brother, Austin on Friday, February 14th.

One night later Ty was back in victory lane with a clean sweep of his program that included fast time honors, a heat race win, and a feature triumph, which locked him into the Gator Championship on Monday night.

It was Austin’s turn to shine on Sunday night in his #3 UNOH/Bad Boy Buggies/Bandit by Mark Bush Racing Modified/Clements Racing Engine as he conquered his Gator Championship qualifying night at the ½ mile, speed plant. He raced to the win in his heat race to lock into the 3rd starting spot for the feature. It would only take Dillon seven laps to race to the lead and once out front he never looked back on his way to his first victory of 2014.

The coveted Gator Championship boasted a $5,000 top prize on Monday evening as many of the top Modified pilots in the country brought their best game into the event. Unfortunately for them it wouldn’t be enough to stop the Dillon domination. Ty drew the pole for the finale and led flag-to-flag in the 30 lapper to register another coveted Gator Championship.

Austin wouldn’t be as lucky in the finale as a violent, multi-car wreck in the closing laps brought his podium run to a disappointing end. Luckily he escaped uninjured.

The week-long festivities drew to a close on Tuesday night, and Ty Dillon overcame a great battle with Kent Robinson to register his fourth win of the week. With the victory he also claimed the overall UMP DIRTCar Nationals Modified title.

“I don’t think I can put words to it,” said Dillon, whose brother, Austin, is on the pole for the Daytona 500. “It’s just been one of those weeks where I felt like I’ve been in a groove in our Team Dillon race cars. They have been so amazing. To come down here and race against 60 DIRTcar UMP Modified drivers, they’re the best across the country, track champions and everything, and win four races, get two big Gator trophies … I’m just very blessed for the opportunity. I hate that it’s over, but it’s good to go out on a good note.”

Team Dillon Racing is slated to be back in action at Volusia Speedway Park on February 19th-22nd as Dale McDowell makes his 2014 debut in the #17m TDR/Warrior/ECR Racing Engine Super Late Model. Wednesday night’s program includes a $7,000-to-win, UMP DIRTCar Super Late Model program, while Thursday through Saturday will see the World of Outlaws Super Late Models waging war for $10,000-to-win each night.
