Farmer City Raceway gears up for huge, fast-paced event Friday and Saturday

FARMER CITY, Ill. — April 1, 2014 — The World of Outlaws Late Model Series invades Farmer City Raceway on Friday and Saturday for one its biggest events of the year, the Illini 100.

Through the first six events of the season, Darrell Lanigan has five top-five finishes to lead the standings by a slight 22 points over Illinois native and 2013 DIRTcar Late Model national champion Brandon Sheppard.

Billy Moyer, the Arkansas legend who won the series’ most recent race on Saturday night at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., is a four-time winner in World of Outlaws Late Model Series action at Farmer City Raceway.

In addition to the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, several DIRTcar Racing classes will also be on the track this weekend, including DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, DIRTcar Pro Late Models, DIRTcar Street Stocks and Hornets.

WHEN: Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, at Farmer City Raceway. Track activity is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday. There also will be a Thursday night practice session.

WHERE: Farmer City Raceway is in Farmer City, Ill. Take I-74 to exit 159. From the exit travel 6/10th of a mile south on State Road 54 to US 150. Travel 7/10th of a mile east on US 150 to the Fairgrounds. Click on the link for a map – https://goo.gl/maps/Uj2Ug.

TICKETS: Tickets can be purchased in advance through noon central on Wednesday, April 2. After that, tickets will be available for purchase at the track beginning on Friday and Saturday. Tickets begin at $40.
