Jacksonville Speedway to kick off MOWA season after postponement

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (April 07, 2014) ? With the postponement of the planned season opener for the Midwest Open Wheel Association Sprint Car Series presented by Casey?s General Stores, focus has turned to what was supposed to be scheduled night number two at Jacksonville Speedway, Friday, April 11.

Jacksonville Speedway, Jacksonville, Ill., kicks off the weekend with what has turned into the series season opener. The $2,000 to win event will be hosted at the most often visited facility in the series history.

The MOWA Sprint Car Series present by Casey?s General Stores has made
12 stops at the track through its previous three seasons, with eight different winners in those 12 events. Only Jimmy Hurley, Danny Smith and Brian Brown have more than one series win at the track. Hurley has three wins, with his most recent coming June 14, 2013. Brown won the last series race there, October 12, 2013, taking the season finale.

Friday?s event is the first of five scheduled stops for the MOWA Sprint Car Series presented by Casey?s General Stores at Jacksonville Speedway in 2014. Other dates at the venue include May 23, Illinois Sprint Week July 25, Sept. 12 and Season Championship Night Oct. 11.

Friday?s event is slated to have pit gates open at 3 p.m., practice at
6:15 p.m. and racing beginning at 7 p.m. General admission is $20 for adults, $7 for students (11-18), and Free for kids 10 and under.
