NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace to race in 6th annual USCS “Thunder in Carolina” at Carolina Speedway on Friday (4/11)

USCSAtlanta, GA – 4/08/14 – Fans take note: NASCAR veteran driver, frequent TV motorsports commentator and talented dirt track racer, Kenny Wallace will compete in the Stock Car Steel UMP Modified portion of the 6th annual USCS “Thunder in Carolina” in his #36 JEG’S sponsored open wheel modified car at legendary Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, North Carolina this Friday night at 8pm. Wallace is looking to improve on his last performance of finishing in the runner-up position behind car owner Kyle Strickler during the March 15th season opener at the speedway.

Kenny Wallace also finished in the runner-up spot behind Ken Schrader in the K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified series season opener at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on March 1st. Wallace who is originally from Arnold, Missouri but, currently calls Concord, North Carolina home, will wheel the North Carolina based Kyle Strickler owned #36 JEG’s (performance parts) sponsored Modified with Strickler providing the chassis and Wallace providing his own power plant.

Kenny Wallace has 900 starts in NASCAR’s top three divisions. He competed in a record 543 NASCAR Nationwide and additionally had 344 Sprint Cup starts plus competed 13 times in the NASCAR Camping World truck series.

Friday night’s action packed racing card is headlined by the USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour “Spring Speed Xplosion” for winged sprint cars. Drivers from at least ten states are pre-entered for the contest billed as the USCS vs. URC North vs. South Shootout for the winged warriors who reach speeds approaching 130 miles per hour at Carolina Speedway. Wallace and a talented field of Stock Car Steel UMP Modifieds, the SECA Late Models, www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints and Tilley Harley Davidson Renegade divisions complete a full night of high speed family entertainment for fans at the 3/8 mile clay oval.
