Brady Bacon

Pontoon Beach, IL (April 18th, 2014) The Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) made their first of four visits of 2014 to Tri-City Speedway and a great field of cars were on hand to battle.

Their feature event got off to a rough start with a four car crash in turn one of the first lap that saw Cole Wood and Ian Madsen get upside down. Both would make repairs and make the restart. Christopher Bell jumped out to a huge lead on the restart and pulled away in the opening laps. But his machine would begin smoking on lap six and just a few laps later he would be forced to retire from the event. That turned the lead over to A.J. Bruns but that would be short lived as Brady Bacon would storm past him and pull out to a huge lead. Ian Madsen was flying through the field after restarting at the tail after the lap one flip, but his luck would run out just past the half way point as he found the turn one wall and flipped end over end several times which ended his night. Brady Bacon would pull away on the restart leaving A.J. Bruns, Jimmy Hurley, Korey Weyant and Joey Moughan to battle for the second spot. Jimmy Hurley would finally break free of that pack and he would slowly start reeling in Bacon but would come up short as Bacon took the win. A.J. Bruns would get third behind Hurley with Moughan taking fourth and Weyant fifth.
