Lebanon-I-44-SpeedwayMissouri’s Only NASCAR Facility Kicks Off It’s Season This Saturday Night
Lebanon, Mo / April 22, 2014 – The 2nd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pro’s 144 is quickly becoming a Marquee event not only at the “High-Banks” of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway, but throughout all of Pro Late Model Asphalt Racing. The event pays $8,000 to win making it one of the highest paying Pro Late Model races in the United States. The JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance owned by RJ Scott and Glenn Luckett will once again sanction the event that gives the fans a chance to see the future NASCAR stars along with the top drivers on the asphalt circuit today.

Such as was the case of last year’s event when young Chase Elliott of Dawsonville, GA went out on the 3/8ths mile oval and set a new Pro Late Model track record of 14.344 seconds. This was just a tick off the Super Late Model record of 14.198 set back in 1995 by Jim Weber during an ARTGO event.

Elliott was able to give the capacity crowd that night a glimpse of the future as he calmly overtook leader Eddie Hoffman just past the pit stop break on lap 102 and then held off Chuck Barnes and a hard charging Daniel Hemric in being the 1st ever winner of the Mercy Masters Green Jacket and the $8,000 payday. Chase did this without taking on new tires during the pit stop break and ran the fastest lap of the race on lap 140 in touring the oval at a lap of 14.698.

Last season’s event drew 39 Entries going for a 28 car grid. The field also featured Ross Kenseth and entries from all over the United States and Canada along with a strong field of NASCAR Whelen All American Series weekly competitors from Lebanon I-44 Speedway.

This season the 2nd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pro’s 144 presented by Mercy Health Care will be held on Saturday May 17th with an open practice session on Friday evening May 16th from 4PM till 8PM that will be open to the public.

On Saturday practice will begin at 2pm for the Pro Late Models along with two support divisions including the Budweiser NASCAR Ground Pounding Modifieds. Boyne Machine Qualifying for the JEGS/CRA All-Star Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance Pro Late Models begins at 5PM with the top 20 locking into the 144 lap main event. A Special fan autograph session will follow qualifying with racing action to begin at 6:30PM. There will be qualifying heats for the local classes, last chance events for the Pro Late Models followed by two support features and the 2nd Annual Mercy Masters of the Pro’s 144. Rain date is set for Sunday May 18th.

Entry forms are arriving daily and have already been received from 8 states and Canada so stay tuned for driver announcements within the next week.
