(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) The Iron Motorsports team, following a weekend off, ventured to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on April 25-26 for the 6th Annual ‘Illini 100.’ The World of Outlaws Late Model Series once again presided over the two-day extravaganza in the Land of Lincoln and a whopping $20,000 payday was on the line. In preliminary action on Friday night, Jeep Van Wormer timed in thirteenth fastest in Group B during qualifying prior to finishing fifth in his stacked heat race.
On Saturday evening, Jeep nabbed the second transfer spot through his B-Main behind only consolation race winner Ryan Unzicker. After starting the 100-lap headliner from the inside of the tenth row, Jeep was unfortunately involved in a lap six incident before soldiering on to complete 44 circuits. The Pinconning, Michigan native was placed in the twenty-third position in the final rundown of this year’s version of the ‘Illini 100.’ Complete results from the 1/4-mile fairgrounds oval can be viewed online at www.woolms.com.
Jeep and his #55 team have one single event on their upcoming weekend schedule, as they will trek south to Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio on Friday night, May 2. The 19th Annual ‘Southern 100’ will take place this Friday at SOS and a $10,000 top prize will be up for grabs. A complete show featuring qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and the 60-lap A-Main will be on tap at the historic 4/10-mile speedplant.
