Ricky Frankel, Kenny Wallace, Brandon Savage, Mark Holtmeyer and Austen Bercerra all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Mother’s Day, May 11.

Justin Reed and Ricky Frankel brought the Kick Start UMP Super Late Model feature event to the green flag with Denny Woodworth and Clint Kirkham in the second row. Reed grabbed the early lead at the drop of the green flag with Woodworth in the second spot. Reed built a small lead through the early stages as a battle was waged behind him for the second spot between Frankel, Woodworth and Mark Burgtorf. Woodworth managed to stay in the second spot and slowly worked his way into contention for the lead. Woodworth tried a slide job coming out of turn two on the twenty third circuit but contact between him and Reed sent both cars to the tail of the field as the caution flag came out. Frankel then picked up the top spot with Burgtorf challenging on the high side for the lead. Frankel held Burgtorf in the second spot with as final caution flag flying on the twenty seventh lap for Clint Kirkham. Burgtorf Challenged Frankel the final three laps but Frankel picked up his second consecutive feature win with Burgtorf following in the second spot. Jason Perry scored third with Jim Moon in fourth and Reed in fifth. Reed took the Fast Six Dash win with Chuck Mitchell grabbing the heat race win.

Kenny Wallace put on quite a show in the Miller Lite UMP Modified division as he took the Fast Six Dash win and the twenty five lap feature event win. Wallace used his pole position starting spot in the main event to his advantage as he held off Steven DeLonjay to take the win. DeLonjay tried in vain over the middle sections of the event to overtake Wallace but had to settle for the second spot at the checkered flag. Wallace’s feature win was his first ever main event win in several years of racing at the Broadway Bullring. The third spot went to Dave Weitholder followed by Keith Pratt in fourth and Shawn Deering in fifth. Robbie Reed captured the heat race win.

Brandon Savage dominated the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Car feature event as he was never seriously challenged by the rest of the field. Terry Houston scored the second spot followed by Beau Tayler in third, Abe Huls in fourth and Jim Lynch in fifth. Taylor and Jake Powers were the heat race winners.

The Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMod main event was marred by the caution flag during the opening laps but the race to the checkered flag was a great one as the field found its rhythem. Brad Holtmeyer picked up his first ever feature event win as held took to the high side to blast his way through the field to take over the lead from Tanner Klingele. Klingele lost the second spot to Tony Dunker on lap seven with Dunker then applying the pressure to Holtmeyer. Holtmeyer held Dunker at bay to the checkered flag with Dunker settling for the second spot followed by Jim Gillenwater in third, Bobby Anders Jr. in fourth and  Klingele in fifth. Klingele and Holtmeyer were the heat race winners.

Austen Bercerra made it ten feature wins in a row at Quinc y in the $200 to Win IMCA Sport Compact special event. Bercerra worked his way through the field in one lap to take the lead from Kimberly Abbott on the second circuit. Bercerra then cruised away to take the win with Pat Dunker in second, Abbott in third, Brandon Lambert in fourth and Bryce Baker in fifth. Abbott scored the heat race win.

Coming up next at Quincy Raceways will be the will be the much anticipated salute to track founder Albert Scott with the “Scottie 40” a Big Ten Late Model Special Event paying $2000 to Win and $200 to Start. The Miller Lite Modifieds, Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Cars, Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMods and the IMCA Sport Compacts will fill out the racing card for the Sunday May 18 event.
