Bobby Pierce, Steven DeLonjay, Jim Lynch and Joey Gower all picked up feature event wins at Quincy Raceways during the first annual Bank of Quincy Albert Scott Memorial. The event was held to honor the late Albert Scott, the founder of Quincy Raceways and his family.

The evenings main event, The “Scottie 40”, the $2000 to Win Big 10 Series event for the Kick Start UMP Super Late Models attracted a season high car count of 26 entries from as far away as San Antonio Texas. Bobby Pierce continued his 2014 Hot Streak as he put on a dominating performance while leading every lap of the forty lap main event. Pierce got past pole sitter Denny Woodworth and pulled to a substantial lead early in the forty lapper and started working the back of the field on the seventh lap. Pierce worked traffic masterfully and maintained his lead by taking the ckeckered flag by a full six seconds over Mark Burgtorf in second. Brandon Sheppard came from his sixteenth starting spot to claim third with Woodworth in fourth and Justin Reed in fifth.  Pierce, Woodworth and Justin Reed were the heat race winners with Sheppard laying claim to the B-Main win.

Jason Poel and Steven DeLonjay put on quite a show in the Miller Lite UMP Modified main event as the two raced side by side over the first half of the twenty five lapper. DeLonjay was able to pull away for the win after the midpoint of the event with Poel settling for the second spot at the checkered flag. Michael Long came from deep in the field to claim third followed by Dave Wietholder in fourth and Randy Lenes in fifth. Poel set quick time and also scored the first heat race win with DeLonjay taking heat two.

Jim Lynch scored his second feature win of the season in the Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Car main event. Lynch took over the lead on the thirteenth lap and held off Nathan Hayes to take the checkered flag. Beau Taylor salvaged a third place finish followed by Brandon Savage in fourth and Jake Powers in fifth. Hayes was the heat race winner.

Joey gower held off a hard charging Tony Dunker to score the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMod feature event win. Brad Holtmeyer settled for third followed by Tanner Klingele in fourth and Cody Henderson in fifth. Bobby Anders Jr. and Aaron Brockseick were the heat race winners.

The IMCA Sport Compact feature event was suspended after three laps when Alex Baker took a wild series of flips off turn one. Baker had to be cut from his car and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Baker was alert and talking with safety crews during the extracation. The  event will be completed during the Sunday May 25 race night. Josh Barnes and Pat Dunker took the heat race wins.

Coming up next at Quincy Raceways on Memorial Sunday May 25 will be the first 2014 appearance of sprint cars at Quincy Raceways with the MOWA 410 Winged Sprints presented by Casey’s General Stores and the Impact Signs WAR Wingless Sprints in their first ever appearance at Quincy Raceways. The Powder Coat Plus IMCA Stock Cars, Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMods and the IMCA Sport Compacts will also be competing in the Memorial Sunday event.
