Lucas Cattle Company ULMA drivers had just one event last weekend to compete for championship points and when the race weekend completed on Saturday evening at Randolph County Raceway (RCR) in Moberly, Missouri, Jon Melloway came away snagged his second career ULMA victory and second in a row at RCR.

Kenny Mudd of Winfield, Missouri claimed the pole for the main event by virtue of his win in the night’s lone heat race and led the field to the initial green flag along with Melloway to his outside. Former Missouri State Fair champion Chris Smyser of Lancaster, Missouri, made his first-ever ULMA start from third on the grid alongside long-distance traveler of the week, J.D. Hubert of Cross Timbers, Missouri in fourth.

Melloway, of Hallsville, Missouri, darted to the front to lead the main event with Smyser in tow. Hubert and Mudd ran hard to sort out third in a furious side-by-side battle as Mudd slipped from pole position to fourth. In the end, Melloway found the preferred line around the high-banked facility to claim the win. Smyser finished second, followed by Hubert, Mudd, while the winner’s younger Brother, David, came away fifth.

Racing at Randolph County Raceway continues this Saturday, June 7. Ticket prices for general admission are $12 for ages 12 and up, $6 for ages 6 – 11, and kids 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $25. Pit gates open at 4, Grandstands at 5, drivers meeting at 6, hot laps 6:30, and racing at 7. Gates open at 5, hot laps roll out at 7, and racing begins at 7:30. For additional information find the track online by visiting www.callawayraceways.com.

All fans through the gates will also receive a FREE 2014 Lucas Oil Speedway Schedule Poster courtesy of the Missouri Coalition for Highway Safety.” For up-to-the-minute information and track details as well as Show-Me 100 ticketing information visit www.lucasoilspeedway.com.
