Last week in Lucas Cattle Company ULMA competition Larry Ferris of Nevada, Missouri became the tenth different winner this season after he claimed his first-ever ULMA win during competition at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Unfortunately, wet weather claimed two victories, the first on Friday at Callaway Raceway and again on Saturday at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Missouri.

From the latest Lucas Oil Speedway press release, “In ULMA Late Model action, Nevada, Missouri’s Larry Ferris brought his Buzzard powered mount from his eighth-starting spot to pick up a popular win after overtaking pole sitter and early race leader Brian Schutt.”

J.D. Hubert vaulted to second from his 13th-starting spot. Schutt slipped back to third at the finish. Dwight Niehoff and Phil Edmondson battled to the finish with Niehoff holding on for fourth and Edmondson settling for fifth.” Completing the top ten at the finish were Ethan Young, Chris Cox, Jon Binning, Larry Jones, and Harlen Kennedy.

This coming weekend June 13th-15th, the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series makes its first appearance of 2014. Visit www.lucasoilspeedway.com for the complete event information including times, pricing, and ticket information or call the track hotline at (417) 282-5984.

Early morning and afternoon rains forced the cancellation of racing at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Missouri last Saturday evening. ULMA racing at Randolph County Raceway resumes on Saturday, June 21. This weekend, the track hosts the MLRA late models for a special event. For a complete schedule of events for the season and general information, visit www.randolphcountyraceway.com.

Rain also spoiled the fun at Callaway Raceway in Fulton, Missouri last Friday evening. The track will try again this Friday, June13. Gates open at 5, hot laps roll out at 7, and racing begins at 7:30. For additional information find the track online by visiting www.callawayraceways.com.

In just a few weeks, RacinDirt.com presents the long-awaited return of the ULMA Triple Crown Shootout. The event, which features added purse money from two of the ULMA tracks as well as bonuses courtesy of RacinDirt.com and contingency prizes, takes place over three nights at Lucas Oil Speedway on July 3, Callaway Raceway July 4, and Randolph County Raceway on July 5.
