Macon SpeedwayMACON, Ill. – Kyle Logue still knows how to get around the legendary Macon Speedway high banks.

Logue, who stepped away from full-time racing, hopped back into the action Saturday for the Mueller Distributing Miller Lite Beer Twin 50’s and grabbed the lead on a late restart before holding on for the Big Ten Series late model victory in the 50-lap feature race.

Logue, a multi-time champ in both late models and modifieds at Macon Speedway, collected the $2,000 check that went to the winner. The Cisco resident will be back for the Herald-Review 100 in the UMP Summer Nationals at Macon Speedway on July 10.

Matt Taylor of Springfield and Dennis Vandermeersch of Springfield finished second and third respectively.

In the Billingsley Towing modifieds 50-lapper, Danny Smith of Argenta took advantage of a late action in the pack to take the $700 check. Smith started sixth but used his skills and patience to take the lead when Ethan Schnapp lost power on the final lap. Randy Huffman followed Smith to finish second after starting 10th.

Bobby Beiler led all 15 laps en route to another feature win in the street stocks division. He was challenged by Terry Reed and the previous feature winner Tom Riech.

John Bright, Jr. took his second feature win in the Outlaw Hornet class as he and Michael Gossett were side-by-side through the majority of the eight-lap event. Gossett finished in second. In the Stock Hornet feature, Benjamin McChristy took the win.

Schnapp of Springfield won the B-Mod feature.
