DIRTcar Summer Nationals(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith Racing returned to action following a couple of weeks off on June 13-14 at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. The 16th Annual ‘Masters’ weekend was held and the grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour rolled into CLS to preside over a pair of high-profile races. A strong field of 32 competitors signed in for night one on Friday, as a $5,000 top prize was on the line.

Brady Smith clicked off the fourth fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race behind only prelim winner Rodney Sanders, Brian Birkhofer, and Tim McCreadie. After starting the 40-lap main event from the outside of the eighth row, Brady was able to rally past eight competitors to finish eighth in the final rundown. The doubleheader weekend at Cedar Lake was then scheduled to conclude on Saturday evening with the ‘Masters’ finale, but the $10,000 to win program was washed out by heavy rain showers. Complete results from the rain-shortened ‘Masters’ weekend can be accessed online at www.cedarlakespeedway.com.

The #2 team has a short week to work on their equipment, as Brady has intentions of entering four more UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals showdowns in the Land of Lincoln from June 18-21. A $5,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs on Wednesday at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois and on Thursday at Quincy Raceway in Quincy, Illinois. The busy week for Brady Smith Racing will then wrap up with a pair of $10,000 to win events on Friday at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and on Saturday at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois.
