DIRTcar Summer Nationals(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer has watched the weather all week and has finally decided today that his #21 team will travel to the states of Kentucky and Missouri with the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals this upcoming weekend (June 27-28). On Friday night, Billy will kick off his weekend at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky, while he will wrap up his doubleheader weekend on the “Hell Tour” on Saturday evening at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. Both weekend showdowns boast a $10,000 winner’s check and Billy has enjoyed a myriad of success at both venues throughout his illustrious career. Additional information concerning these races can be found online at www.thehelltour.com.

The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” recorded his second UMP Summer Nationals victory of 2014 last Friday night, June 20 at one of his favorite racetracks – Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois! Billy knocked down the fourth quickest time in Group B during qualifying at the St. Louis-area facility and scored the win in heat race action. Billy then drew the pole position prior to the 50-lap feature and led the first circuit before settling into the second spot. Billy then turned up the wick during the course of the caution-free affair, as he once again worked his way to the point on lap 30 and led the remainder of the distance. He recorded the $10,000 payday for his 84th career series win by besting son Billy Moyer, Jr., Brandon Sheppard, Brian Birkhofer, and Shannon Babb!

Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) then ventured to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday evening, June 21 for another $10,000 to win UMP Summer Nationals extravaganza. Billy clicked off the fastest lap overall during qualifying to earn Fast Time honors, but was later nipped at the checkers in his heat race to finish second behind only prelim winner Brady Smith. The Batesville, Arkansas superstar was then scheduled to start the 50-lap headliner from the inside of the fourth row, but inclement weather invaded Fairbury prior to the feature and postponed it until a later date. Full results from these and other “Hell Tour” races can be viewed 24/7 online at www.thehelltour.com.

“It was good to get another win at Granite City, especially since we lost one a few days prior at Farley after blowing a tire,” quoted Moyer, who picked up his fifth Summer Nationals triumph at Tri-City Speedway. “We had a great car all night and I was just patient there in the feature until the track came around to us. The top was pretty fast early in the race, but it finally slowed down and I could roll that bottom pretty good. There were only two Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn cars in the field, so it was neat for me and Junior to put them both first and second!”

BMR would like to thank the following sponsors for their continued support: Henderson Motorsports, Banner Valley Hauling, L&D Trucking, Car City, Clements Racing Engines, Cooley Transport, J&J Steel, Karl Chevrolet, Jack’s CARQUEST, New Vision Graphics, Red Line Oil, Sparks Motorsports, Watters Autoland, Moyer Xtreme by Longhorn, Allstar Performance, Arizona Sports Shirts, Awesome Racewear, Bell Helmets, Bert Transmission, Beyea Headers, BSB Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt Professional Seat Systems, C&R Racing, Champ Pans, Cizmar Racing Supply, Crower, Dart Heads, Deatherage Opticians, Delph Communications, Eibach Springs, F.A.S.T., FK Rod Ends, Hawk Brakes, Hoosier Racing Tire, Intercomp, ISC Racers Tape, Kluhsman Racing Components, Mason Racin’, Midwest Sheet Metal, MSD Ignition, Ohlins Shocks, Performance Bodies, Performance Rod & Custom, Peterson Fluid Systems, Rockhard Powder Coating, Scott Performance Wire, Stealth Carburetion, Sunoco Race Fuels, Sweet Mfg., Turbo Start Batteries, TWM Manufacturing, Weld Racing Wheels, and Wiles Racing Driveshafts.
