World of Outlaws Late Model Series(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith, of Solon Springs, Wisconsin, recorded his second career UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory on Sunday, June 29 at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois! Brady qualified fourth fastest in Group A during time trials and later scored the heat race win over Billy Moyer, Jr., Kevin Weaver, and Jim Moon. After drawing the pole position prior to the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap feature, Brady led the first fifteen circuits before giving way to Chase Junghans. However, the “Prodigy” regained the point on lap 24 when Junghans spun in lapped traffic and Brady went on to lead the remainder of the distance to score the $5,000 payday over Brian Birkhofer, Brian Shirley, Dennis Erb, Jr., and Ryan Unzicker!

Earlier in the weekend, the Brady Smith Racing team was in the pit area on Saturday, June 28 at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. The grueling UMP Summer Nationals stop at the St. Louis-area facility boasted a $10,000 top prize. Brady laid down the third quickest lap in Group B during qualifying at Pevely prior to finishing second in heat race action. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 40-lap main event, Brady picked off a couple of competitors en route to a solid fifth place effort behind only winner Brian Birkhofer, Billy Moyer, Bobby Pierce, and Randy Korte. “I was really happy with our weekend, especially that win at Lincoln really gave us a shot in the arm,” commented Smith earlier this week via telephone. “I lost the lead to (Chase) Junghans there in lapped traffic, but I was about ready to turn up the wick on him when he had trouble himself with a lapped car. We started off the year so strong down in Florida and I think we are gaining back some of that momentum heading into a very busy month of July!”

Brady and his #2 team have decided to spend the upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend with friends and family and will instead start prepping their equipment for the annual World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Wild West Tour.’ The four-race week with the Outlaws will take place from July 10-18 in the states of Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota. All four shows at Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, Minnesota, Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota, Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota are slated to pay $10,000 to the winner.
