Corning, California (07/07/14) – Tyler Reddick has spent the 2014 season focusing on learning the ropes of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS). However, he made the last minute decision to break out his familiar Reddick Motorsports #11 Broken Bow Records/Bloomquist/Gaerte Racing Engine Super Late Model for the first time in 2014 over the weekend for three events, and it resulted in a $10,000 payday as he conquered the first UMP Summernationals feature of his career.

Tyler Reddick made his first Dirt Late Model start of 2014 with a UMP Summernationals event on Friday night at Fayette County Speedway (Brownstown, Illinois). The $7,500-to-win event drew a field of thirty-four entries, and via preliminary action Reddick earned the fourteenth starting spot for the feature. Unfortunately passing became difficult in the finale, and Tyler would only be able to manage a thirteenth place finish in his Reddick Motorsports #11 Bloomquist entry.

Reddick made history on Saturday night at Highland Speedway (Highland, Illinois), where he raced to the first UMP Summernationals feature win of his career. The $10,000-to-win affair drew a field of 43 entries to the tight bullring, and after winning his heat race Reddick earned the outside-front-row starting spot alongside, pole sitter Bobby Pierce. Early in the race Reddick slipped as far back as third behind Pierce and Feger. However, lap 14 found Reddick rocketing into the top spot. He went on to lead the remainder of the 40 lapper to score the victory over Brandon Sheppard, Brian Shirley, Bobby Pierce, and Billy Moyer.

“It’s been a long time since we won a race so this is exciting,” said Reddick, whose only previous triumph in five years of Dirt Late Model racing came in a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event on Feb. 9, 2011, at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Fla. “This was an unplanned race and here we are — $10,000 richer and won a Summernationals race. This is just an amazing feeling.”

The weekend concluded on Sunday evening at Tri State Speedway, where Reddick started twenty-first on the grid before advancing ten spots to an eleventh place finish.

Tyler now turns his attention back to the pavement ranks as he heads to Iowa Speedway (Newton, Iowa) this Friday for the American Ethanol 200 with the NCWTS. Reddick will again pilot the #19 BKR/Broken Bow Records/Reese Towpower Ford F-150. For more information on the event and its festivities, please visit www.NASCAR.com .
