DIRTcar Summer Nationals(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Red-hot Billy Moyer continued his assault on UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals competition last week with a trio of wins in the states of Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa from July 9-12! On Wednesday night at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana, Billy laid down the quickest lap overall during qualifying and won his heat race prior to starting the 30-lap feature from the pole position. The Batesville, Arkansas star then led from flag-to-flag on the big 1/2-mile oval to bag the $5,000 top prize over Brian Shirley, Shannon Babb, Brandon Sheppard, and Austin Dillon!

Following a day off on Thursday, the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team rolled into Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on Friday evening for another UMP Summer Nationals showdown. With light rain falling much of the night, Billy once again swept the night’s racing program in the Land of Lincoln. He set Fast Time in qualifying, won his heat race, and then paced the feature field for all forty circuits to claim the $10,000 winner’s check. Billy reached the checkers ahead of Bobby Pierce, Shannon Babb, Mike Spatola, and Kevin Weaver at the 1/4-mile, fairgrounds venue!

The sweep of UMP Summer Nationals action last week concluded on Saturday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. Once again, Billy knocked down the fastest lap during time trials and scored the win in heat race action. The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” then tracked down leader Chris Simpson on lap 27 of the feature and led the remainder of the 40-lap distance to secure another $10,000 payday for his 88th career “Hell Tour” triumph. Billy reached victory lane in the Hawkeye State by besting Brian Birkhofer, Chris Simpson, Brandon Sheppard, and Tanner English! Full results from each of these three races can be found online at www.thehelltour.com.

Next up for the #21 BMR team will be another busy week in the states of Kansas and Nebraska with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas will play host to a complete $10,000 to win show tonight, July 15, while the 4th Annual ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ will take place on July 18-19 at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska. Preliminary events are scheduled for Friday night in the Cornhusker State, while the $30,000 to win ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ will headline the weekend on Saturday evening. Billy is the defending winner of the event at Lakeside and earned a strong fifth place finish in last year’s version of the ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ at I-80.
