Lucas Oil Late Model Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing continued their hectic Summer schedule with a trio of high-profile shows in the states of Illinois and Missouri from July 10-12. Things kicked off on Thursday with a visit to the mighty Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois for the annual running of the ‘Herald & Review 100,’ which was sanctioned by the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour. Dennis Erb, Jr. timed in seventh fastest in his group during qualifying, but later grabbed the fourth transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the $5,000 to win feature event from the outside of the eighth row, Dennis charged into the top five of the 100-lapper before getting caught up in a lap 36 incident. The Carpentersville, Illinois hotshoe then restarted at the tail end of the talented field and drove back up to fourth to finish behind only victor Shannon Babb, Ryan Unzicker, and Brian Shirley.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series then took center stage on Friday and Saturday with a pair of lucrative $10,000 to win programs at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. On Friday evening at Granite City, Dennis ran fourth in heat race action prior to winding up fifteenth in the final rundown of the ‘Battle at the Beach 50.’ At Wheatland on Saturday night, Dennis timed in fifth quickest in Group A during qualifying and later finished third in his heat race and twelfth in the 50-lap ‘CMH Diamond Nationals.’ He still sits ninth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the weekend. Full results from all three races can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be another busy week in the states of Kansas and Nebraska with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Preliminary events are scheduled for Friday night in the Cornhusker State, while the $30,000 to win ‘Silver Dollar Nationals’ will headline the weekend on Saturday evening. Dennis posted a strong top ten in last year’s version of the ‘Silver Dollar Nationals,’ as he wound up ninth in the final finishing order at I-80.
