DIRTcar Summer Nationals(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) The five-week grind that is the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour will conclude this week with four events in the Buckeye State of Ohio. Both Riggs Motorsports drivers – Brian Shirley and Jason Riggs – plan to enter the final four series races at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, Attica Raceway Park in Attica, and Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon from July 16-19. The first three shows this week boast a $5,000 top prize, while the finale on Saturday at Oakshade once again pays $10,000 to the winner.

Through 24 completed races so far on the “Hell Tour,” Brian sits third in championship points and has accumulated two victories, eleven Top Fives, and twenty Top Tens. Jason has skipped a couple of events recently, but still sits sixth in points with three Top Ten efforts. You can learn more about each of the last four UMP Summer Nationals showdowns by logging onto www.thehelltour.com.

Last week on tour, Brian entered all six events from July 8-13 and found himself on the podium after three of those races. The Chatham, Illinois star led most of the 40-lapper last Tuesday at Florence (KY) Speedway before winding up third in the final rundown behind only victor Jason Jameson and runner-up Eric Wells. Brian then recorded an impressive runner-up outing on Wednesday at Terre Haute (IN) Action Track behind only winner Billy Moyer. His other podium during the busy week came in the $5,000 to win ‘Herald & Review 100’ at the mighty Macon (IL) Speedway on Thursday, as he crossed underneath the checkers in the 100-lapper third behind only winner Shannon Babb and runner-up Ryan Unzicker.

Jason chose to forego two shows last week, but did find himself inside of the top ten on one occasion. After running fourth in his heat race on Saturday night at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, the Harrisburg, Illinois native improved three spots on his way to an eighth place effort in the $10,000 to win headliner.
