DIRTcarNew Lenox, Illinois (Friday July 18th, 2014): As the calendar has turned to July the racing season in the Midwest is reaching its half way point. So far in the 2014 season Steven and team have competed in 42 events earning 17 top 5’s and 2 wins. Currently Steven is 13th in the UMP Modified National Points and 7th in Summit Modified Nationals Points. When asked about his early season success Steven stated “I believe going to Florida this winter has really helped our program this season.” He continued saying “Although we did not have the finishes we hoped for at Volusia we learned a lot that we were able to bring back home to start the season.”

Steven picked up both of his wins at Lasalle Speedway. The biggest win of the season came May 17th where the modifieds were the support class for the Lucas Oil Late Models. Steven recalls this night saying “Winning at Lasalle Speedway during the Lucas Oil event was a special night. It was a standing room only crowd and being able to park it in victory lane was a great feeling.”

This past month Steven and team followed the Modified Nationals which is raced in conjunction with the Hell Tour. Recalling this month’s events Steven stated “We went into this miniseries hoping that this would be the year that we would be able to pick up a summer national win. Although that did not happen we were able to make our presence known earning multiple top five finishes against some of toughest fields of the season.”

Earlier this year Steven Brooks Motorsports partnered with YMCA Camp Independence. Camp Independence is run off donations for kids with Spina Bifda. The camp is broken in to week long segments where each camper learns ways to become independent. Starting at the Prairie Dirt Classic July 25th and throughout the rest of the year the number 5 will be receiving a makeover to support the text to donate program that Steven and the camp have put together.

Steven was first introduced to Camp Independence from a long time supporter of our racing program. After attending the yearly benefit dinner, which is the camps biggest fundraiser, it became something that he wanted to support himself. Thanks to all of our great sponsors for giving up a little space on the car we are able to advertise the Text to Donate number for the rest of the 2014 season.

Steven has set the goal of raising $1,500.00 by the end of the race season which would cover the cost of one camper. If you are interested in helping Steven reach his goal text CAMPINDEPENDENCE to 50155.

For the rest of the 2014 season Steven will climb behind the wheel of his family owned Rocket by Ruhlman chassis powered by Rhyne Racing Engines. Sponsorship includes Fastlane Graphix, Midwest Sign and Lighting, Great Lakes Lifting, Rebbco Abrasives, Joes Racing Products, Shocks by HMS, Roach Construction, Creative Custom Homes, YMCA Camp Independence, Performance Parts Supply, FK Rod Ends, Bell Racing Helmets, Fast Shafts, Basset Racing Wheels, Pat and Susan Frangella, Turn3Gang, Radiators Unlimited, Redline Web Designs, Cabin 7 Promotions, AB Resources, Racing411.net and SRB Enterprises.
